Role and Responsibilities: This is a full-time position providing the Self Defense Test Ship (SDTS) with admin/ yeoman support. The person will work directly for the Marine Manager and Ship’s Master being responsible for administrative duties. The Test Ship is presently located in San Diego until approximately February/March timeframe of 2025. It will then be homeported at NSWC PHD, Port Hueneme, CA. Position Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree in Technical or Business Or Navy admin/yeoman schools, along with 4-6 years of experience Or no degree/Navy schools and eight or more years documented experience supporting administrative duties. • Must be able to perform administration duties including updating and maintaining HM&E databases, such as CSMP, calibration database, personnel certifications, training tracker and others. • Must be able to update, modify, develop new databases or tracking systems as required. • Must be able to assist Department Leads with work-center administration including integrating inputs to produce the monthly LOE report IAW CDRL requirements as well as update/track the CSMP inputs. • Must be able to provide Marine Manager/Ship's Master support including data analysis such as workhours, maintenance completed, repaired and watch bill overtime accrued. • Must be able to perform as S&S supervisor developing and overseeing the watch bill, schedule qualified personnel, update changes, work with subcontractor for qualified watch standers and ensure compliance with the contract and SOP. • Must be able to qualify as a 24/7 watch stander, resolve Sounding and Security (S&S) shift issues, callouts and last-minute changes. Be adaptable, flexible, willing to work a shift as required to meet the SOP. • Must be able to assist managers with the onboarding process, training and support new hires with the S&S requirements. • Must be organized, attention to detail, work under pressure, meet deadlines and have solid computer Microsoft Office skills (i.e. word processing, spreadsheets, data entry). • Must be able to work independent completing onboard requirements. • Must be able to support overnight underway evolutions (includes regular housekeeping/cleaning). • Must have a valid driver’s license with own transportation. • Must have no criminal record, able to satisfactorily complete background check and pass a physical. • Must be able to work under minimal supervision, perform and complete tasks with limited guidance. • Able to follow company policies and procedures. • Able to write, speak and understand English and able to write clear, detailed reports. Preferred Skills: • Yeoman experience Physical Requirements: • Must be able to climb up and down the shipboard vertical ladders. • Must be able to qualify firefighting training. • Must be able to lift and carry 50 pounds. • Must be able to get underway to support mission operations |
