#2629 Associate Test Engineer (TE20)

Role and Responsibilities:
Full Time position supporting the TESS Task Order filling the Electronics Lab Technician position as a Associate Test Engineer. Duties include troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining electronics equipment in a laboratory environment. The position is located onsite at NSWC PHD in Port Hueneme, CA.
Position Duties:
- Either Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or other technical degree and minimum of 1 year experience or no degree with a minimum of 6 years technical experience supporting Navy systems experience.
- Must be able to set up and calibrate electronics systems
- Must be able to read and follow schematics and diagrams to assist in fault isolation
- Must be able to troubleshoot problems with electronics and make necessary repairs
- Must be able to conduct service checks and perform routine maintenance to keep electronics functioning properly
- Must be able to communicate with operators, engineers and inspectors to understand problems and provide progress updates
- Must be able to give demonstrations on the safe use, operation, and maintenance of electronic equipment
- Must be able to order or produce parts needed to make repairs and complete maintenance
- Must be able to maintain logs that provide dates and details of repairs and maintenance performed
- Must be able to adhere to health and safety rules and regulations
- Must have a valid driver’s license with own transportation and able to travel.
- Must be able to satisfactorily complete background check and get a government clearance.
- Must be able to follow company policies and procedures.
- Must be able to write, speak and understand English and able to write clear, detailed technical monthly reports.
Preferred Skills:
- Navy A/C School with electronics training
- Experience with circuit repair and test equipment
- Experience with Red Hat and UNIX
- Experience with fiber-optics
Mandatory Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
- Must be capable of working aboard US Navy ships pier side and at-sea.
